2024 Solar Eclipse

The Portage County Health District is working in collaboration with other community organizations to provide you with information and resources for viewing the solar eclipse on April 8, 2024.

We want to ensure that residents and visitors alike have a safe experience during this once-in-a-lifetime chance to view the eclipse in our beautiful county!

Food Safety

To operate your temporary food business during the eclipse, please submit your completed application within 10 days of April 8th to ensure we have staff to accommodate your needs. If you’re not sure whether your operation requires a license, call us at 330-296-9919 to speak with an REHS in the Environmental Health Division.

Temporary Campground

Please submit your temporary campground application within 15 days of April 8th to ensure we have staff to accommodate your request.

Safety Tips and Eclipse Resources
